Casper Sleep Foam Mattress, King 12

CHECK PRICE

I had a Tempur-Pedic mattress for a little over a decade now. It’s just too old now, started having an odor that fresh sheets can’t mask, and it no longer supports me the way I need it to. I decided to give Casper a try because of all the reviews from Consumer Reports and on the website. It’s a cheaper alternative to Tempur-Pedic, which is what I want because paying $3,000+ is just too much money. Even though it was worth it for the 10+ years I’ve had mine. I’ve only had the mattress for a day so my review won’t mean much to a lot of you now, so I will make another review in a few months to update how well it’s holding up.

It arrived damage-free and the material seemed sturdy when taking it out of the box/wrapping. I got the queen mattress and my bed is the Malm frame from IKEA. There is probably about an inch from the edge on one of the sides, but that’s not a deal breaker for me because once you get sheets and a comforter on there, the gap will be gone anyways.

My thoughts immediately after unboxing were that the mattress was very sturdy and the material seemed nicely made just like my Tempur-Pedic was. After just sitting on it for a minute, I didn’t think it was too soft – it had just the right amount of firmness to give my body support, but enough softness to adapt to my body and give me comfort (I’m 5’4” at 165 pounds).

Edit: it’s now January 22 2019 and I wrote the original review November 9 2018. I absolutely love this mattress. It truly does support me the way I need it to. It’s the perfect combination of soft and firm for me. I get the best nights sleep on this mattress! The only complaint I have, which others have noted in their reviews, is the smell. My mattress still has that new smell to it. It’s not as strong I will admit, but it’s still there. Apparently it can take several months depending. It doesn’t give me headaches or effect my sleep in any way, but it’s there and noticeable. Aside from that, I highly recommend this mattress if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative to the Tempur-Pedic.

After spending 2 years on a “free” memory foam mattress I got from a friend who was moving out of town, I decided that I’d had enough of tossing and turning, waking up tired and in pain. This Casper mattress was delivered on time, set up in a snap, and on the very first night I actually slept through without waking up. I had a couple of questions that I texted to the company, which were immediately answered.

I have arthritic hips. And while this mattress is very supportive, it “gives” at those pressure points. For this reason, I am not having to turn over a lot to relieve the pressure on my hips. I’m not getting out of bed in the morning sore and hobbling. No more waking up! No more fatigue. No more having to nap to fill up my sleep tank.

Best of all, I had the assurance of the 100-day no-hassle return policy.
